This is the kind of craftsmanship that really captivates you. The talented artisan in this video starts with an ordinary piece of wood and shaves it down to a smooth cylindrical shape. When he moved on to the next step I couldn't stop watching. It's unclear at first exactly what he's making, but after he makes enough progress it's clear that this is a one-of-a-kind work of art. 


The decorations created in this video are commonly referred to as German folk art trees. I know what I'll be ordering as Christmas decorations next year! Would one of these look good inside of your house?
