Face and body painter, animator, and artist Emma Allen shows off her insane ability to use paint and stop motion techniques to create mind-blowing, transformative animations. In the video below, she crafts an abstract self-portrait of herself. She spent five days painting and re-painting her face with a little help from a mirror, and she collected still images of her progress as she progressed. Once all of these images are combined in stop-frame video, Emma's face becomes an animated storybook that tells the multi-faceted aspects of her perceptions of self.
